Now They Want to Kill The Pill!

(Tip credit-Right Wing Watch)

On the 50th anniversary of the availability of the birth control pill, the “fetus people” are coming to DC to protest and try to intimidate the Planned Parenthood office on 16th st.

Here is their call

WHO: American Life League , Human Life International, Pro-Life Wisconsin, Pharmacists for Life International, Archdiocese of Mobile Respect Life, Operation Rescue, Jill Stanek, Generation Life/Brandi Swindell, Life Education Ministry, Pro-Life Unity, Movement for a Better America, AMEN (Abortion Must End Now), Pro-Life Action of Oregon, Children of God for Life, Expectant Mother Care/Chris Slattery, Mother and Unborn Baby Care, Defenders of the Unborn, California Right to Life Education Fund, Delaware Pro-Life Coalition, Life Guard, Homeschoolers for Life, Focus Pregnancy Center, Central Texas Voices for Life and Dubuque County Right to Life

WHAT: Protest the Pill Day 2010: The Pill Kills the Environment

This year, birth control advocates are celebrating 50 years of decriminalized hormonal contraceptives. American Life League and our co-sponsors don’t think half a century of contaminating our waterways is something to celebrate. Study after study has shown that hormonal estrogen in the water has severely damaged the ecosystem and our health.

WHEN: June 5, 2010, 11 a.m.

WHERE: Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington D.C. 1108 16th Street, NW Washington, DC 20036 (Planned Parenthood is one of the largest distributors of birth control in the country.)

WHY: “The birth control pill is not only killing preborn children and women, it is killing our environment,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League, “How long will we stand by and ignore the fact that hormonal contraception wreaks havoc on our children, women’s health and the planet?”

The people behind this festival of the fetus is the nasty little group called “American Life League”
From Right Wing Watch:

American Life League
Founded by Judie and Paul Brown with help from right-wing strategist Paul Weyrich, the American Life League (ALL) is a spin-off from the National Right to Life Committee with a more grassroots orientation.
ALL is closely aligned with the Catholic Church and opposes birth control, stem cell research and euthanasia.
ALL was an enthusiastic backer of the extreme anti-abortion tactics promoted by Operation Rescue.

To end all forms of abortion without any exceptions made for the health and life of the mother, rape or incest.
ALL’s work includes campaigns against the use of all contraceptives, lobbying for “abstinence-only education” and the elimination of sex education in public schools.
ALL also fights against euthanasia, fetal tissue and embryo research, and questions the use of vaccines, such as rubella, that are created from human tissue cells.
Brown has strongly criticized President George W. Bush for not supporting the Human Life Amendment and has chastised other conservative groups for giving him any support.
According to Judie Brown, “Abortion is never necessary to save a mother’s life.”
Organizes grassroots activists.
Lobbies on behalf of its issues.
Produces educational materials and publishes a weekly newsletter.
Participates in legal action.
ALL has its own voting mobilization project.
Sells anti-abortion clothing, jewelry, stickers, and brochures.
In 2004, ALL published a full-page advertisement in USA Today urging Catholic priests and bishops to deny Communion to Catholic legislators who support abortion rights.
ALL’s early networking created the foundation for the outspoken anti-abortion movement in the 1980s and the established movement as it exists now.
ALL helped to establish the “rescue” movement, which made the use of aggressive tactics to disrupt reproductive health services commonplace.
These tactics, adopted and popularized by ALL, include “sidewalk counseling,” clinic blockades, and the systematic harassing and intimidation of patients, clinics and doctors.
According to Brown these activities are “free speech” and in 1994 ALL filed charges over the Freedom of Access to Clinics Act (FACE) in American Life League v. Reno.
ALL lost in the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court refused to hear the case.
ALL defends anti-choice activists who have been arrested for blocking clinics and has applauded the controversial work of Operation Rescue and Randall Terry.
In 1996 when Bill Bennett and Ralph Reed questioned the GOP’s absolutist anti-abortion plank, Judie Brown gathered together 11 pro-life leaders including Family Research Council’s Gary Bauer and Focus on the Family’s James Dobson to express their strong support of the Human Life Amendment and collective rejection of any exceptions for abortion.
Judie Brown is allegedly a member of the clandestine right-wing organization Council for National Policy.
In 1979, Judie Brown broke from the National Right To Life Committee to form ALL.
Within less than a year of its founding, ALL had 68,000 members.
ALL received virtually free publicity from religious-right leader Paul Weyrich with the help of right-wing direct mail specialist Richard Viguerie’s massive membership lists.

The latest way ALL was “Celebrating Life” was a sign they sponsored and paid for to be distributed at the 9/12 TeaBagger march in DC this past September of 2009.

The sign “Bury Obama Care With Kennedy” Was paid for and distributed by The American Life League which proves the way they believe in “Celebrating Life”.

Faith2FAIL…The Movie LOL!!!!

Crazy Narcissist Theocrat Janet Porter at it AGAIN!

A while back we reported on one of the most embarrassingly bad failure of a political rally called “Faith2Action” which we dubbed “Faith2FAIL”.
The event was orchestrated by a self obsessed theocrat named Janet Porter who was granted a very large amount of $$$$$$’s ($70,000) to attract thousands to a Christian Dominionist based prayer event on May 1st 2010.

Part of her reasoning for choosing May 1st was to make a mockery of the pro-labor observed anniversary for the left.

But, the mockery was on her, as her event barely drew a few hundred crazies, a pro-labor/pro-immigration rights event on the same day only a few blocks away did draw tens of thousands of supporters and was a huge success.

The Monday following Porter’s fail, she was kicked of her radio spot from a Evangelical radio network, because she was too extreme and too much of a failure even for THEM!

Thus, with concern for her Christian Dominionist rhetoric and ties, it appears that Porter also lost her credibility… so what does she do to try to get it back?

Like a self absorbed teenager who cannot stop posting about herself on Facebook, Porter has now decided to try to make a movie and its all about HER!

Marketing this disaster with phony old “feel for the fetuses” blabber, the delusional Porter sees her teeny bopper hearts and flowers romance with her husband “Daniel Porter” as the center of the universe and will attract thousands of interested viewers to flock to her spotlight…once again….NOT!

Who Exactly Is Ken Cuccinelli?

3644586959_4f29be5c72_m

The New AG Mussolini for Virginia

(Foto from Blue Virginia Blog)

At a Morton Blackwell’s 2009 4th of July event, Cuccinelli’s wife bragged from the podium about her husband being “right wing extremist”, this was no joke.

Despite being the keynote speaker at tea bagger and pro militia events Cuccinelli has been dodging the bullet on addressing his right wing “third position” politics , his support for and from dangerous racist militia groups, his burning hatred of gays and immigrants, not to mention he believes birth control is equal abortion and both should be made illegal and unavailable to the public.

From “Nick”:

Hard Right Republican Favored to be Next Attorney General of Virginia

In Virginia, registered voters are preparing to cast their ballots in a statewide election that could significantly affect the future of the Commonwealth. The governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general seats are all open and Virginia Republicans appear to be within electoral reach of each seat.

While the governor’s race has received the most attention from the local media and Virginia voters, the Republican candidate for attorney general might be the key political player who shapes the state’s future should he win the race.

Ken Cuccinelli, a state senator from Virginia’s 37th district, is favored to be the state’s next attorney general according to several reputable polls.

Cuccinelli is a hard right Republican who believes global warming is fabricated, thinks state law should reflect his derogatory views of homosexuals and introduced a law in the state legislature that would have allowed employers to fire workers who did not speak English and subsequently deny them unemployment benefits.

Here is a breakdown of his views on three critical issues:

Environment
The far-right Republican denies global warming exists. He told a group of William and Mary university students in late September that the climate is getting colder and it is a natural part of the Earth’s climate cycle.

When a W&M student asked him about the professional views of Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, Cuccinelli described his science as “absolutely baseless.” Chu has a Nobel Prize in Physics and has publicly advocated for national economies to reduce or eliminate fossil fuels and adopt renewable sources of energy. When the same student asked about the educational experiences that shaped his views on climate change, Cuccinelli responded by saying that he took a few engineering courses in college.

Cuccinelli then ominously warned the W&M students that “the environmental movement has been used more than any other movement…to destroy and get rid of capitalism.”

The Republican state senator has also threatened to sue the federal government if it institutes carbon cap emissions. He said this year that supporters of carbon cap emissions are like “watermelons”: green on the outside but communist red on the inside.

He enthusiastically supports granting permits for companies to explore and possibly drill for petroleum and natural gas off Virginia’s Eastern Shore. Sites already eyed for potential exploration and subsequent drilling include areas off Virginia’s famous southern portion of Assateague Island.

Assateague Island, which is shared territorially between Virginia and Maryland, includes a National Wildlife Refuge (NWF) that serves as a resting spot for numerous migratory birds. It is a nationally protected park and continues to serve as a vital part of the area’s ecological system.

If a petroleum spill were to occur, whether accidental or intentional, Assateague’s NWF could be destroyed.

Homosexuality
Cuccinelli recently told the Virginia-Pilot, a daily newspaper based in Norfolk, that “ homosexual acts are wrong…intrinsically wrong. And I think in a natural law based country it’s appropriate to have policies that reflect that.”

He was instrumental in promoting the November 2006 statewide referendum which defined marriage as “only a union between one man and one woman.” The Marshall-Newman Amendment was approved by 57% of Virginia voters and is now part of Virginia’s state constitution.

Cuccinelli attends St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Clifton, VA. It is the same church that hosts former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. The former Pennsylvania Senator was arguably one of the most homophobic members of the U.S. Senate. Santorum famously compared homosexuality to sexual intercourse with non-human animals in an interview with the Associated Press in 2003.

Cuccinelli was spiritually nurtured by Father Jerome W. Fasano. The priest, who is now the resident pastor at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Front Royal, Virginia, preaches homosexuality is perverse. Fasano’s sermons include hysterical homophobic diatribes and condemnations of individuals who are not both Roman Catholic and socially conservative.

Father Jerome W. Fasano can be reached at his current office phone, 540-635-3780, for questions or concerns about Cuccinelli.

Cuccinelli has avid support from the laity of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. Supporters of Cuccinelli are often seen after weekend masses in Clifton holding supportive signs.

St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church is located at 6720 Union Mill Road Clifton, VA 20124. The Parish office can be reached at 703-817-1770 for questions or concerns about Cuccinelli.

Immigration
Cuccinelli has notoriously anti-immigrant views. In the Virginia State Senate, he proposed amending Section 1 of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to revoke citizenship rights of the children of undocumented immigrants who were born in the United States.

The Republican state senator gained national attention in early January 2008 when he introduced a bill in the Virginia state legislature that would have allowed employers to fire individuals for the “inability or refusal” to speak English in the workplace and subsequently deny them unemployment benefits. The bill, SB339, would have even allowed employers to fire employees who spoke a non-English language on the phone or to co-workers when away from clients and the public.

Cuccinelli boasts on his official AG campaign website, that he will deport “Illegal aliens who choose to break additional laws by stealing identities, dealing drugs, joining criminal gangs, driving without a license.”

He also introduced a bill in the State Senate which would allow a Virginia business to file suit against another competing Virginia-based business “if the [competing business] employs or employed persons it knew or should have known were illegal aliens.”

Who Is Andrew Beacham?

The many faces of Andrew Beacham

The many faces of Andrew Beacham

Our friends at Teabagger Watch (nee Teabaggers Are Coming) have a great new piece about Andrew Beacham, the young teabagger acolyte of rabid anti-choice zealot Randall Terry. Beacham first came to our attention when he has been spotted him at various events sporting distinctly changed looks. In addition to getting arrested wherever Obama is speaking and making a fool of himself protesting Obama’s “do well in school” speech, Beacham’s hobbies also include infiltrating Planned Parenthood meetings and having sooper dooper top seekrit meetings with notable airhead Alan Keyes.

Muslim Day of Prayer Disrupted By “Operation Save America”

Muslim Day of Prayer on US Capitol Draws 50,000 People

Muslim Day of Prayer on US Capitol Draws 50,000 People

Washington DC- On September 25, 2009 it was a warm sunny Friday at the United States Capitol where the first Muslim Day of prayer was held on the west lawn. It was a a family friendly event with brightly clothed participants numbering about 50, 000 who all joined in a positive time of meditation and fellowship for a new future in the relationship between Muslims and America, the country they call home.

Beautiful cultural attire added to the warm mood of the Muslim Day of Prayer

Beautiful cultural attire added to the warm mood of the Muslim Day of Prayer

Unfortunately, a certain loud and rude over zealous Christian cult calling itself “Operation Save America” was not only handing out horrible pamphlets, openly praying to scare people from their communal prayer event, but screaming racist anti-Muslim slurs in a megaphone during the silent meditations and sacred moments.

Operation Save America hands out pamphlets of hate and disrupts sacred Muslim meditations

Operation Save America hands out pamphlets of hate and disrupts sacred Muslim meditations

Their nasty little pamphlet reads : Abortion is Murder, Homosexuality is Sin and Islam is a Lie. Inside this handout they claim Jews have “religious hypocrisy” and the rest of the tripe is anti-Muslim racism and hate “through Christ”.

Mike Flugennock reports from DCIMC:

Christians Make Sorry-Ass Spectacle of Selves at National Muslim Day of
Prayer at the Capitol

JESUS FREAKS SHOUT, BABBLE AT MUSLIMS; FLING BIGOTED INSULTS, THREATS OF
DAMNATION AS PER USUAL

It had turned out to be quite a pleasant sunny afternoon when several
thousand Muslims gathered on the West Lawn of the Capitol in a peaceable
neighborly manner to pray and meditate on their National Day of Prayer
while, in the meantime, they were relentlessly hectored, harassed,
bullied and accosted by a gaggle of born-again Christian nutcakes in a
display of the kind of ignorance, arrogance, and stupidity that drove
this reporter to become an atheist, skeptic, and rationalist (in his
junior year of college, while hanging around the dorm on a Sunday
morning doing bong hits and watching the 700 Club for cheap laughs, upon
seeing Pat Robertson praying over a pile of letters containing checks
and cash mailed in to his phony-assed “ministry”).

As far back as this reporter – originally from a Catholic family – can
remember, the only religion whose members hounded him to join their
“flock” and threatened him with eternal hellfire and torment if he
didn’t believe as they believed were the Christians. No Jew or Muslim or
Hindu or Buddhist or Shinto ever subjected this reporter to the kind of
pushy, crass bullying that he’s had to put up with most of his life from
Christians of the kind he witnessed pestering the Muslims who came to
the Capitol to pray this afternoon.

When Life Loves Death

Disrespecting the dead and waving around a corpse to push a wackjob agenda is not just for fetuses in a jar anymore.
It’s now for playing corporate concubine for insurance, pharmaceutical and health industry CEO’s.

The American Life League stoops to a new low using Kennedy's death the corporate CEO agenda

The American Life League stoops to a new low using Kennedy's death the corporate CEO agenda

Yes, the anti-choice anti-abortion movement, who brought our society domestic terror on women’s clinics and Drs have sunk to a low in a new direction, using Senator Ted Kennedy’s barely cold dead body to push the agenda for the corporate pimp daddies.

Among the plethora of crazy, barely coherent signs present at the 9/12 DC Teabagger event, this sign caught our attention which reads:

“BURY OBAMACARE WITH KENNEDY”

This sort of sentiment was donned on a lot of scribbled hand-written signs, but something this crass appearing like it was mass produced by a 501c3 astroturf organization was a bit out of the ordinary.

There was very little to clue us in to the producers of this nasty sign except a barely visible logo for something called “ALL.”

But, alas with a little digging we found out that the organization that mass-produced this sign is the American Life League (source), one of the largest pro-life organizations in the United States. It is a spin-off of the National Right to Life Committee and was founded by Judie and Paul Brown (source) with help from Heritage Foundation founder Paul Weyrich. Among ALL’s projects are Rock 4 Life, ALL’s campaign to shut down Planned Parenthood as well as their campaign to expose pro-choice catholics and deny them communion.

Long story short: A very sick minded astroturf lobbying group whose claim to fame is that they are dedicated to “preserving the sanctity of life” exploits the death of one man to achieve short-term political goals that deny health coverage to millions of Americans for the sake of corporate buggery. Classy.
More of these nasty signs can be found here and here

TOWN HELL: Crass Mob Heckles Rabbi, Shouts Down Dean at Health Care “Town Hall” in Reston

From our buddy “Nick”

On the evening of August 25, 2009, thousands of Virginians attended a town hall meeting on federal health care reform in Reston, Virginia.

The event was held at South Lakes High School and featured Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

While the majority of attendees at the facility were explicit supporters of health care reform, numerous right-wing individuals disrupted the event.

In one instance, a right-winger punched an Obama supporter in the face without provocation. The right-winger was subsequently pushed away from the area by several individuals and Fairfax County Police later evicted him from the property.

The man was wearing a CATO Institute t-shirt. The institution is a libertarian think tank based in Washington, D.C.

In another incident, several conservative military veterans surrounded an elderly man and physically intimidated him in an attempt to censor the man who supported health care reform.

Countless conservatives held signs of President Obama that prominently featured the president’s face with a mustache painted under his nose meant to resemble former German dictator Adolf Hitler.

Others held signs that portrayed President Obama as the cartoon character The Joker. The images of Obama as The Joker resembled old minstrel shows whereby actors of European descent applied facial makeup in a mocking attempt to resemble individuals of African descent.

Several conservative supporters of status quo health care flew “Don’t Tread on Me” flags and attempted to silence anyone who “does not support freedom,” has “socialist” tendencies or did not serve in the U.S. Military.

Before the town hall meeting began conservative pro-life activist Randall Terry mocked “baby-killing” by stabbing play dolls and pretended to assassinate a woman resembling a “grandma.” Terry protested Obama’s health care reform legislation and called it “baby killing and grandma killing.”

Terry told a local reporter “there’s no way to pay for [Obama's health care reform] without killing granny.”

The prominent activist and his supporters later interrupted former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean’s speech only to be chased out by local Virginians.

Several right-wing activists held signs that read “Obama Lies, Grandma Dies.” When questioned about the signs several right-wing activists replied by warning of “socialism” and “death panels.”

Several local media outlets described the event as turning into “near chaos” as supporters and opponents clashed inside and outside the high school.

Who is Pulling Bob McDonnell’s Racist Puppet Strings?

Remember Bob McDonnell? He is the Virginia Gubernatorial candidate whose campaign had displayed a confederate flag at his table at an arms and gun show in Richmond Virginia. Some claim it to be a mistake, most likely is was a bad strategy choice to reach out to southern racists voters.

Virginia Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell's proudly displays racist confederate flag

Virginia Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell's proudly displays racist confederate flag

The latest uncovering of McDonnell’s political agenda comes from blogger Fred2Blue revealing back in 2002, the then Virginia House Delegate McDonnell proposed “HR158″ to the Virginia general assembly. It was a bill requiring the Virginia school system to use an archaic old book from the 1950′s called “American Citizens Handbook”.

A Nationalist HandBook For Children from the 1950's

A Nationalist HandBook For Children from the 1950's

It is a politically Nationalist style handbook for children which contains passages encouraging eugenics ideals paralleling the ideas of the Nazis Lebensborn
From the conservative women’s group Eagle Forum

It contains a rather embarrassing endorsement of eugenics as a goal of education, so that “highly gifted young people” are encouraged to bear children to “greatly improve our national stock.”

What kind of political ideology base would an elected official have to be encouraging such an agenda?

Crazy Racist Pat Robertson is Bob McDonnell's Puppet Master

Crazy Racist Pat Robertson is Bob McDonnell's Puppet Master

The fact is, McDonnell has a very interesting political mentor (aka puppet master) bearing a Southern legacy of political racism: Pat Robertson

(The video reveals that McDonnell received his education, political ideals and training at Pat Robertson’s college “Regent University”)
Pat Robertson was born into a rather concerning political family as the son of Senator Absalom Willis Robertson.
Pro-Segregationist and Jim Crow Laws Advocate Senator A. Willis Robertson

Pro-Segregationist and Jim Crow Laws Advocate Senator A. Willis Robertson

Sen. Robertson is remembered as a staunch supporter of Jim Crow laws and for his outspoken criticism of the US Supreme Court’s Brown v Board of Education decision, ending segregated schools. Furious at the Democratic Party’s attention to civil rights, Sen. Robertson was one of the architects of the Republican Party’s “Southern Strategy” of using racism to win votes in Southern states.

Pat Robertson carried on his father’s “Southern Strategy”well into the present political world today.

There were problems with racism against African Americans within Robertson’s organization:

“In 2001, ten black women who worked at the Christian Coalition sued over racial discrimination, complaining that they had been denied health benefits and overtime pay available to white workers. They alleged that they had been instructed to enter the group’s offices only through the back door, to eat their lunches in a segregated area, and to avoid being seen in the office’s VIP area. A white employee later joined the lawsuit, alleging that he was fired for refusing to spy on the black employees. In preliminary court hearings, the judge ruled that the employees had shown they were likely to prevail in the case, and after several of the plaintiffs had their work hours reduced, the judge issued an injunction ordering the coalition not to retaliate further. The case was subsequently settled out of court, on condition that details of the settlement remain secret.”

A staunch supporter of the old South African apartheid government:

“I think ‘one man, one vote,’ just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights.”-Pat Robertson, on The 700 Club, a very racist quote, insisting a white persons vote is more important than a black persons.

About non-Christians:

“Robertson on his March 23th show label Hinduism as “demonic” and advocate keeping Hindus out of America.”

And his comments about Muslims are hideous and often refers to Islam as “Stanic”

On the March 13, 2006 broadcast of The 700 Club Robertson stated that Muslims want global domination and that the outpouring of rage elicited by cartoon drawings of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad ” just shows the kind of people we’re dealing with. These people are crazed fanatics, and I want to say it now: I believe it’s motivated by demonic power. It is Satanic and it’s time we recognize what we’re dealing with.”

Now, what are we looking at here?

A Republican candidate for the governor of Virginia who has a history of trying to legislate eugenics based Nationalist ideas to state public elementary schools.

He campaigns with the Confederate flag, and his “teacher”/educator/mentor/puppet master is committed to a political family tradition based in the advocacy of the old Jim Crow Laws.

Bob McDonnell is 12 points ahead in the polls.

Cuccinelli: The Crackpot Candidate

Republican Candidate Ken Cuccinelli and good friend Jeff Frederick

Republican Candidate Ken Cuccinelli and good friend Jeff Frederick

(click on photo for more info on Frederick)

There has been a rash of rightwing political aggression as of late, about everything from places of birth, fear of healthcare, and tea bagging.

It’s been a cult of crazy, Ken Cuccinelli is their candidate; and he’s running for Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Yep, Republican Virginia State Senator Cuccinelli is a Tea Bagger, endorsed highly by anti-immigration segregationists as he boasts with pride his voting record of being an anti-gay/anti-choice theocrat

But, it gets even worse as seen in this video, “Coooch” plows into politico paranoia a la mode:

The interesting part is that “Coooch’s” wife gave birth to about half a dozen girls before she had the son “Coooch” is referring to.

Did “Coooch” try to prevent any of them from getting social security numbers too?

Or, maybe “Coooch” believes only his boy (not girls!) need to be protected from the evil government Illuminati tracking devices?

Or, maybe “Coooch” is having a recent decline in mental clarity and lucid thought patterns?

Or, maybe “Coooch” finds a connection with a type of “Montana Militia” mentality while his views on his main issues like abortion mirror the fringe crazy

What is “Coooch’s” legal experience?

He’s a patent attorney! (srsly!)

Given his attraction to paranoid nuttery, lack of legal reasoning in understanding fact from conspiracy, how is this man going to help protect Virginia from the potentially violent mob he is claiming camaraderie to?

Will “Coooch” protect Virginia’s woman’s clinics and the staff who work at them from the type of right wing violence and terror which has proved to be a growing trend in our society?

What will “Coooch” do to stop racially inspired acts of violence against Latino and Muslim immigrants when he is so openly agreeing with anti-immigrant radicals?

Is “Coooch” really about being a good AG or is he just another power hungry ideologue riding on an embarrassing trend in American politics?
