Sucking Koch!

Julia and David Koch in a Marie Antoinette/Louis XVI moment overlooking a crowd of protesters from a balcony.

The middle east was in chaos this weekend with protests and clashes filling the news with the havoc. But the middle east was not the only site of protest– a smaller and less violent protest in California at what was supposed to be a billionaire caucus drew 1000 angry protesters outside a posh resort in Palm Springs California.

Despite being organized by MoveOn– and thus part of a larger political circus– the protesters were not lacking causes to oppose and rage against. The key figures present at this confluence of corporate corruption were the multi-billion dollar Koch Brothers. Apart from their status as primary funders of the entire teabag movement, the Koch’s other but no less odious claim to fame rests with their father, Fred who– with Robert Welch and Revilo P. Oliver– founded the John Birch Society. Revilo P. Oliver is a notable figure due to his prominence in White Nationalist circles (he also co-founded the neo-nazi National Alliance with William Peirce), and consequently the John Birch Society enjoyed the membership of such prominent neo-nazis as David Lane, Tommy Metzger and William Peirce. Before we digress too much, let’s just finish with how the John Birch Society is best known:

It’s not surprising that the family at the nexus of paranoid conspiracy theories about communists tampering with our precious bodily fluids attracts paranoid conspiracy theorists. Making his second appearance at this event was Glenn Beck, whose shilling for gold scams  and bilking the poor out of their money apparently dovetails nicely with the committed anti-communist and pro-business crowd at this event. Thanks to ThinkProgress, we have the program from last year’s event and the invitation to this year’s event. We’re still looking for a copy of this year’s program, but while you’re waiting why don’t you take a look through the eighteen page PDF and see the who’s-who of corporate corruption in America.

Drunken race-baiter Andrew Breitbart also made an appearance outside the conference, choosing to spend his time roller-skating around the crowd and hurling insults. He later produced a video of an alleged eevyle liebrul stating that Clarence Thomas needed to be “strung up,” but considering Breitbart’s propensity for blatantly fabricating videos as “evidence” and how “the left’s treatment of Clarence Thomas” was the reason he became a conservative, this is probably yet another attempt at slander through video editing.

Also present, fresh off their merger with Comcast and subsequent abrupt termination of Keith Olbermann, was MSNBC– but not in any journalistic capacity. Truly, this was a panoply of plutocracts.

A movement that is wholly funded by the private coffers of two multi-billionaire brothers is in no way “grass roots.” The more light is shown on the revolting Kochs, the more they wither and decay.

Glenn Beck Brings in an Unhealthy, Unhappy and Sometimes Violent Crowd to DC

***THE ULTIMATE VIDEO***!!!!

The LLL/Town Hell Posse could only be amazed at the high number of unhealthy, unhappy and aggressive people who turned out to help “Restore Honor”.
It’s almost a good thing Glenn Beck didn’t schedule a march, because he’d have been sued by the families of the nearly 100,000 heart attack and stroke victims among the roughly 100,000 who believed they Restored Honor on Saturday.

It was at this rally that the folding camp chair would become symbolic and synonymous with your slackly-rallying Teabagger.

The Unhealthy and Unhappy Made Up for the Majority of the Crowd

Right Wing Watch has their report:
Beck’s Big (Yawn) Event, #1

The Glenn Beck fans on my subway car after today’s rally were a subdued bunch. They didn’t seem energized by having spent time with their idol and many thousands of fellow fans. Why not?
“It was kind of boring,” said one. “It wasn’t what I expected,” said another. “It was good,” one said with an unenthusiastic shrug. “He had some good speakers.” One recalled someone sitting near them grumbling, “I didn’t come all this way for an awards ceremony.”

As shown in the video above there were some people who quietly came out to oppose Beck and friends and met with violence, but they were not the only ones.

Our comrade who is a street journalist was attack by a woman who tried to punch his camera and here is a photo of her:

Or you can view it here

From street journalist:

One of the teabaggers trued to smash my camera, earning a fist-to-fist punch in return. One of her friends tried to call the cops while I rode away laughing-straight to the 20,000 strong Al Sharpton “Reclaim the Dream” counterprotest. Too bad that wasn’t Sarah Palin herself! Rest of the article HERE

Various activists from the left were quietly and politely handing out flyers. We were able to get PDF’s of these flyers:

First Flyer:

Thomas Paine’s “Agrarian Justice” is a little known (by right-wingers, at least) piece where he argues that wealthy property owners should be levied with a heavy estate tax to pay into a fund to support the poor, elderly, and handicapped.

Second Flyer:

The Open Letter to Glenn Beck was written by AK Press after Glenn Beck misrepresented an AK Press book about the Greek riots on his show as being by and about communists using anarchy in their favor, instead of by anarchists and about anarchists.

Al Sharpton Organizes March to Honor Martin Luther King

Al Sharpton and a plethora of guests held a rally at Dunbar High School in Northwest DC on Saturday, where they sought to honor the
legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic march on Washington.
Speakers touched on a number of topics, ranging from labor rights, DC statehood and gains in the civil rights struggle and pointed out that Dr. King’s civil rights work tied varying struggles together so that everyone could succeed. Most speakers decried Glenn Beck’s rally as a cheap stunt and an irrelevant exercise.
The attitude of the rally was best encapsulated by National Action Network’s Chairman W. Franklyn Richardson– “It’s all right with me that they’re at the Mall today–because WE are at the White House!” Sharpton reminded the crowd not to get sucked into confrontations with heckling teabaggers, telling them to smile and say “It’s not about you.
It’s about Dr. King.” The march– which stepped off late– packed eight city blocks as it snaked from Northwest DC to the future site of the Martin Luther King memorial where Martin Luther King III delivered a short speech.

More photos of both rallies HERE and HERE

Discussion about turnout still abounds on the internet, but both rallies pulled strong numbers. Our estimation puts Glenn Beck’s rally around 100,000 and Sharpton’s rally around 50,000.

Grow Some Balls and Oppose Glenn Beck’s 828 Rally!

Lonesome Roads Beck is a despicable media caricature, but we all knew that.

When he announced that he was staging a media circus on the anniversary of the famous civil rights leader Martin Luther King’s speech, we thought he was joking.

But, he isn’t.

He is setting up a rally to “restore whiteness” back into America and to kill off any kind of impact the civil rights movement has accomplished.

He is planning this rally with the defender of those who use the N-word, Sarah Palin at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, August 28 at 10:AM.

Is there any opposition to this? Yes, apparently there is!

Glenn Beck’s Passion Play

Through out history there were propaganda plays to incite hatred towards Jews called “Passion Plays”.

In today’s world Mel Gibson tried to recreate a new public rash of anti-Semitism with his over budgeted and over rated “Passion of Christ”.

We all remember how Gibson tried to deny that there was any bigotry as a motivation, and of course now we know he is a liar.

Now, Glenn Beck has taken center stage in the anti-Jew religious hatred, even after Pope John Paul II declared that the responsibility of the death of the Christian savior was not by the hands of the Jewish people.

But, that doesn’t seem to sink in to Beck the bigot with his latest quote:

“If Jesus was a victim he would have come back from the dead and made the Jews pay for what they did.”

But wait! At least he’s still loved by skanky meth induced clown faced bimbos everywhere!

BTW– this horrid looking creature’s name is : Robin Potwora, she is some kind of tobacco lobbyist/activist and maybe works with the circus?
