It’s Not About Racism in America, it’s About the Cheap Entitlement at the BBC

UPDATE 7/3/15:

We finally got a response! We received this message from the BBC in our email. While it does do a yeoman’s job of sticking to their stated policy of journalistic integrity, it doesn’t really deal with Scott Terry’s milquetoast “retraction” where he claims it isn’t “technically true” that the BBC “paid [his] way.” We’re left with two possibilities: the BBC screwed up and is trying to do damage control– or the simpler and far more likely possibility, that Scott Terry screwed up and was operating under the delusion that a film crew documenting his freakish and degrading antics constituted his elevation to media stardom.

A BBC Spokesperson said:

“We in no way assisted or encouraged Mr Heimbach’s decision to go to Charleston. We also absolutely reject any suggestion that we sought to stage or influence a confrontation.

 “We are filming a wider programme about race in America and as part of that we have interviewed several organisations and groups to hear their different perspectives. The programme is being made in accordance to the BBC’s editorial guidelines.

The face of media has been changing and evolving over the past decade due to the internet. Anyone with a keyboard and a cellphone camera can now 2.0 report and bring news to the public that the mainstream media is either ignoring or too self-serving to pay attention to. Bigger blogs such as HuffPost, Addicting Info and Crooks and Liars are replacing more traditional mainstream media outlets. This has probably caused some insecurities in the mainstream media and they are possibly struggling to keep up with the blogs and Tumblr posts that are stealing their audience. The pressures to provide head turning content is obviously at an all time high, but how low will the mainstream media wallow to obtain this content?

A real news story is organic– every blogger with ethics knows that. Real news is about reporting a situation that is happening– without a hand in creating that story by the reporting party. Has the BBC blatantly crossed that line? You tell us!

About a month ago anti-racist journalists and activists started getting emails from a “Livvy Haydock” from the BBC, claiming she was a producer looking to create a film documentary about “racism in America.” Okay, we all know this is an overdone and spent documentary topic, but America is facing a very intense moment in our history regarding racism. She then made it very clear that she was looking for the “rallies or events” where she may “see groups congregating and promoting their message”

A few weeks later this blog post by white nationalist Scott Terry pops up. Now for a little background, Scott Terry is a person we can safely say has some serious “issues”. He made his first media appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2013 when he made a public statement claiming slavery was good because it gave black people free “shelter and food” and in the next breath made a call for racist segregation.

Terry has had a number of other less publicized histrionics but we digress. Terry keeps a blog called “Shotgun Wild at Heart” on wordpress.com. Readers can find it on their search engine of choice– we are not going to create any traffic for him. On June 26, 2015, Terry made a post called “Shotgun Goes to Charleston” about how he and his other white nationalist cronies, Matthew Heimbach and Tom Bulls, imposed themselves on the memorial vigil in South Carolina on June 26th where mourners were grieving and honoring those massacred during a bible class on June 17th.

In this post Terry makes a very interesting claim which was “It didn’t hurt that the BBC was making a documentary and agreed to pay our way”…wait what?

He then goes on to claim that “the BBC wanted to get our interaction with black nationalists and wondered if we felt safe”…whoa!

Now aside from the fact that Terry’s post is hard to read, racist and appalling, it did reveal a strong possibility that he and his rabble were not there only by their own accord, but as a staged situation for this BBC documentary footage.

An un-named anti-racist activist did email and confront Ms Haydock about the exchange of money to Terry and friends and she claims no money was given to them on behalf of the BBC. Terry then backpedaled his post and removed the “paid our way” statement and posted this note:

“This wasn’t technically true”?This sounds a bit open ended to us. Now, it’s plausible that money did exchange hands or expenses were paid in some manner out of pocket, but let’s assume none did for now. There still appears to be a strong BBC hand in the presence of these three individuals being placed as theatrical props at an event honoring the dead. It also doesn’t discount the fact that the BBC producer appears to have possibly encouraged these white nationalist to confront the mourners for their footage.

Other white nationalists were contacted by Ms Haydock, like this post from John Anthony Gage from the “National Youth Front,” which is a William Johnson / American Third Position Party youth group run by Gage. In receiving his email he promptly posted on his open Facebook group which reads:

“Hi,

I am a television Producer from BBC Current Affairs. We are currently amiking a television documentary about racial tensions and fears in the USA and groups that have established themselves in reaction to those issues. We are very keen to show the younger generations and explore issues as to why they have felt it neccesary to take an active role in defending being white. I would love to discuss the documentary with you and tell you more.
I hope to hear from you soon,

We are concerned by this situation and for the lack of regard for the gravity of this event, so we emailed the BBC and Livvy herself.

Dear XX XXXXX,

We were not sure if you are the correct person to bring attention to on this matter. We are research and report group based in the United States who monitor hate groups.

In our monitoring we came across a blog post by an American white nationalist, Scott Terry, who we have been following for a number of years.

In this post, which we are providing in the attachments states number of disturbing things we find questionable in the practices of one of your producers who is apparently working on a documentary on racism in the United States.

We have been informed by others we work with that this producer is Livvy Haydock, because she has contacted them for this documentary as well.

According to this blog post Livvy Haydock, has apparently been staging the appearances of American white nationalist spokesman Matthew Heimbach and members of the white nationalist group Traditionalist Youth Network (TYN).

The blog post status that not only did she arrange for them to appear at a memorial vigil for the mourners of those murdered in the Charleston South Carolina shooting, she also appears to have paid their travel expenses.
It also stated that Livvy was encouraging the TYN members to confront mourners in order to create an atmosphere of tension and agitation during a solemn ceremony solely for her footage.

We not only find this completely irresponsible hack journalism, but egregiously disrespectful for those who lost their lives in the shooting and to those grieving for their lost loved ones. If this is in anyway factual, we have never in our lives seen have seen anything this disgusting.

We have also provided individual screen shots from Scott Terry’s blog wherein he states that the “BBC agreed to pay our way.”

The issue here is plainly obvious: It is implied that Livvy Haydock arranged for this scene to take place, arranged for the travel costs of these people and in effect, engineered and staged a situation that would not have occurred without her involvement.

If this is true, the Charleston Memorial footage appears to be nothing more to Livvy than a way to stage sensationalist journalism.

Our suggestion is that if your company wishes to preserve its integrity, it would scrap all of the footage of Heimbach and TYN in Charleston.

Anyone would agree that if any of the footage of Heimbach or other TYN members in Charleston is used, this lowers the final product to little more than a high-budget neo-nazi infomercial.

We have also alerted the anti-racist activists not to participate in this production.

If you are not the proper person to call attention to on this matter, please forward to the appropriate department.

Seriously? A duck and hide, and threats of “legal action” and no care or concern for what went down, really?

Well, this was our response to that:

Ms Haydock,

Your name has been on every email as the point of contact for this production. Whether you are or are not responsible for how this production is being executed in the United States does need a further investigation by the BBC.

What is most interesting is your immature and unprofessional response to this situation.

Instead of showing any concern for any chance that a memorial for nine human beings has been completely disrespected for the footage of a one hour sensationalist documentary, it appears that you and your production team do not, and that shows exactly why we have the problem of privilege, entitlement and racism in the United States.

Those nine lives do matter, that memorial was for them and those who needed to grieve for them, not to be used as the set of a carny act centered around a spoiled white boy (Matthew Heimbach) who grew up in a wealthy Washington DC suburb and views black people as subhuman.

I fail to see how using that event for cheap footage is any different than how Matthew Heimbach thinks and believes.

Instead of apologizing or promising to look into the matter that is obviously your responsibility in some way, you react with legal threats.

This is why we have the problems we have about race in America, because of this kind of insensitive and privileged mentality.

I hope the BBC will take a careful look at the obvious unprofessional mess this production is appearing to be.

The white nationalist group Traditionalist Youth Network– for which Heimbach is the spokesman– is using this production for their fundraising campaign:

“We’ve wrangled our way onto Chelsea Handler’s upcoming NetFlix series, an upcoming hour-long BBC documentary, and several local and national news stories just in the month of June alone. Each and every time we achieve media attention, we try to pitch the proven “mantra” messages alongside our attractive message of faith, family, and folk. Each and every time we achieve media attention, it’s to promote our cause and our message, not ourselves.”

This drives our point home about the reality of this situation. We earnestly hope the BBC will take this situation as seriously as we are and will perform a proper investigation into what is happening on this production.

Now, of course the BBC has not responded, other than Ms Haydock’s little tantrum and then a worthless email we were supposed to contact instead. If this production comes to fruition, we want to alert the public about the possible unethical, insensitive and brash disregard it was created in.

Kyle Rogers of the Council of Conservative Citizens is now a Virginia Flagger Fan!

The Virginia Flaggers are a Confederate Heritage group, sometimes referred to as “Neo-Confederates”, who are based in Sandston, Virginia. The group was started in 2011,  their current leader is a woman named Susan Frise Hathaway who is constantly repeating their innocuous motto “Return the Flags – Restore the Honor.” Benign as the group may seem, it appears there is more to the group than meets the eye.

The Virginia Flaggers have had past associations with white supremacists during their activities as well known WN activist Matthew Heimbach was often seen in connection with the group. VA Flagger member Tripp Lewis had described Heimbach as a “good guy” even after Heimbach’s nefarious activities became more obvious.

In the early stages of the VA flagger group, Ms. Hathaway was also interviewed and promoted on a podcast with the white supremacist southern nationalist group League of the South.

It could be argued that their past associations to Heimbach and the League of the South are trivial and spotty at best, but now another white nationalist has stepped up to publicly praise and promote the VA Flaggers and their activities.

The Council of Conservative Citizens is listed as a White Nationalist hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and is a reincarnation of the White Citizens Councils. CofCC’s website and blog is administered by Kyle Rogers, a fairly well seasoned white nationalist activist who has been on the scene for a number of years now. Kyle very rarely makes a public appearance but when he does it certainly makes an impression (lol!)

Kyle, out of the blue, has decided that now the C of CC has a keen interest in the VA Flagger as he is now promoting their up coming “Lee-Jackson Day” event in January on the C of CC website called TopConservativeNews.com

This promotional article is also plugged  on hate forum Stormfront by a user named “UlsterScot12,” believed to be the alias of Kyle Rogers.

Another posting was discovered on the White News Now forum under the category “Council of Conservative Citizens”.

Why would Kyle and the C of CC all of a sudden take an interest in a group that claims they are not racists or white nationalists– like the agenda of the C of CC and Kyle himself?

One plausible reason is centered around Kyle’s side business, which is an internet flag shop called “Patriot Flags.” There, Kyle takes freedom of speech down to the level of selling a variety of flags, many with a white nationalist or Nazi based theme. And if you take a second look at the C of CC Flagger article …

In the world of capitalism it would make sense that Kyle smells cash in the blood of these confederate flag worshippers. He has a strong connection to League of the South and makes a profit by being the providing source for their big black X flags, glee club polo shirts and most likely the printed signs for their meager protests.

Are the VA Flaggers perhaps a potential business prospect? Or maybe the business relationship has already been on going? Either way– flaggers need flags, Kyle sells flags and he sells the kinds of flags they are looking for and they already have mutual friends in the League of the South.

 

The Actual Event:

The event in question that the Virginia Flaggers are planning is on Friday, January 16, 2015 and Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Lexington, Virginia for the Lee-Jackson Holiday.

For the third year, the Va Flaggers will gather in Lexington for the Lee-Jackson holiday. Friday, January 16th is the Virginia State Holiday for Lee-Jackson Day, and Saturday, January 17th is officially recognized as Lee-Jackson Day in Lexington. The Virginia Flaggers will flag the town of Lexington for action taken by City Council to ban ALL flags from city light pole flag stands, rather than allow the flags of Lee and Jackson to fly for the week leading up to the State holiday, AND Washington and Lee University for actions taken by President Ruscio to desecrate the LEE Chapel by removing battle flags from the Lee Mausoleum in response to the demands of 6 agitators/students.

Yeah, well LOL, so much flag drama and so little time. The most humorous part of the picture is this Va Flagger call for a TOTAL BOYCOTT of Lexington, Va and ask that participants take great effort and not spend ANY MONEY inside the city limits. The recommend lodging is outside of the town, and the Stonewall Brigade has negotiated discounted pricing. This boycott has apparently been ongoing since 2011.

Has this boycott had any effect on the businesses of Lexington?

There has been considerable doubt expressed as to the effectiveness of the boycott. According to data contained in a post at the Civil War blog Dead Confederates, the boycott has thus far been wholly ineffective and has made no measurable difference on the economy of the city of Lexington. An informal poll conducted by telephone to no less than 20 local businesses in Lexington, between Friday, December 19, 2014, and Sunday, December 21, 2014, also show that the boycott has had no negative effect on the economy of the city of Lexington. One hotel manager in Lexington said that he “Had no idea what we were talking about”, while the manager of a well known chain restaurant in town commented that they, “Didn’t know there was a boycott”. We did not receive a single positive response from any of the merchants in Lexington, Virginia indicating that they had lost revenue due to the effects of the boycott, with most commenting that they had never even heard of the boycott prior to our inquiry.

Who is going to this event?

Well we have spotted at least four known League of the South members Dennis Durham, Shane Long, Josh Newcomb and Jamie Farren who have pledged to attend the event.

 

Note: We must stress that we have no grounds to assume that the Flaggers are directly responsible for the Council of Conservative Citizens’ promotion of this event or the League of the South members joining in on the event, so we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt– but it’s certainly suspicious that a group that has had nothing to do with the Flaggers is now bending over backwards to promote them.

It is unclear if the Virginia Flaggers will distance themselves from the Council of Conservative Citizens and the League of the South by simply denouncing the groups promoting them with the possible prospect of business profits or the League of the South who see this as a venue to recruit and hand out their steel magnolia fanzine.

Time will tell…

Traditionalist Youth Network Pepper Sprays Itself

Official inquiries are being lodged as to whether the Traditionalist Youth Network staged the attack, but for now, let’s repost this report from South Side ARA:

At about 5 30pm members of the traditionalist youth network (TYN), a fascist organization based out of Indiana, joined by knights party, gathered at 7th and Cherry in Terre Haute, IN. The group was meeting up with supporters before their protest against Tim Wise’s speaking engagement at Indiana State University 3 blocks down.

Within 5 minutes of arriving at the meet-up location, 9 white supremacists were confronted by 3 antifascists as another anti-racist waiting for the protest looked on.

How stupid do you have to be to spray your friends in the face with pepper spray?

TYN’s leader Thomas Buhls received 2-3 punches to the face and had his mouth split open. Immediately after, one nazi was dropped to the floor with one punch while Brian Bryant, who hilariously drove 9 hours from Arkansas, threw his sign and ran away screaming as one of the antifascists chased him through the intersection. Another white supremacist also received about 5-6 blows to the head while being held by his shirt. Meanwhile, Thomas Buhls cowardly pulled out his pepper spray and sprayed the uninvolved anti-racist onlooker (also accidentally pepper  spraying Matthew Heimbach LOL!!) as Matt Parrott, who was tossed to the floor, grabbed onto his leg and held it while curling up in the fetal position like a docile child. The anti-racist escaped his hold by punching his way out in self defense but then was later detained by the fascists and arrested. He got out the next morning on a measly misdemeanor battery.

Although the fascists outweighed the antifas, and outnumbered them almost 3-1, they did not manage to land a single punch. For a “militant street fighting force” the fascists were unimpressive and quickly resorted to cowardly pepper spraying someone and palling around with the local authorities.

Needless to say Traditionalist Youth Network did not make it to their protest on time, or in full cadre, nor did they “offer resources” to any students or student groups. After the day was over the antifascists reached their most important goal; to attack white supremacists regardless of the outcome, and to refuse them any safety in organizing.

White supremacist organizing will not go unchallenged.

Case in point: Matthew Heimbach has reached out to a similarly laughable cadre of poseurs, the New British Union.

Yes, they’re aiming to be the reincarnation of Oswald Mosely’s British Union of Fascists– the Hitler fans whose lasting legacy was running away at the Battle of Cable Street– and they… wait, did we say “they”? Sorry. We meant this one guy, Gary Raikes.

… please enjoy this ‘on the buses’  picture of a grown man playing dress up. He’s started a new club called New British Union (NBU). What really makes this photo great is the expression on the guys face – he means business!!! It’s another lunatic group who are hoping to be led to the fascist promised land by the zombie corpse of Oswald Mosley.

The New British Union is probably going to wind up as a footnote in the list of “ridiculous political jokes,” right after George Hutchins’ National Independents Movement. That fact hasn’t gotten in the way of Heimbach, who excreted a typically flowery, tl;dr word salad for the NBU’s website. Take a look for yourself. Please be careful when reading this if you have a full stomach.

Given that the Virginia Flaggers are still friends with Heimbach, we’d like to know how much they appreciate the support of someone who professes to be inspired by Corneliu Codreanu and the Iron Guard— the same fascists who were so consumed with anti-semitic violence that the German wehrmacht had to step in and hold them back.

Is the Virginia Confederate Flag Situation on Interstate 95 a Hoax?

A Neo-Confederate fetish group called the Virginia Flaggers have been generating reams of cringe-worthy drama over the past few weeks, claiming that their entire world will crumble into the sea if they can’t raise a sheet of nylon imprinted with the confederate naval jack along the interstate leading to Richmond, Virginia.

This group is a small gaggle of loons; some are from Virginia, many are not. None of them seem to care about how offensive this action is to the most of the population nor the fact that there are white supremacists like Matthew Heimbach among them.

We could start pointing fingers and naming names of some of the more moronic individuals in the group, like some mentally unbalanced trash novelist out of Pensacola FL, but demented histrionics– however embarassingly funny– are not article worthy.

The rumor is that their media-hound “leader” Susan Hathaway has stepped away from the group, and it is spinning out of control in the untrained hands of those who lack the social skills or emotional stability to know how to maintain the tattered remnants of the group’s positive media image.

It’s fifteen days until the unfurling of the gigantic sheet of Chinese nylon, and we’re scratching our heads. You see, it takes twenty eight days for concrete to fully set and cure, and to properly erect a tall flagpole and not hilariously topple over in a slight breeze, it should probably be up by now. At the very least, some manner of construction should be under way. But there isn’t anything of the sort happening anywhere inside the Bermuda Hundred Campaign area along interstate 95– no new flagpoles, no clearing of land, no tree-clearing operations to improve sight-lines… nothing!

So, if we eliminate the possibility that this goofy bag of nuts are putting up a structurally unsound flagpole, the only other scenario is that the whole saga is one massive hoax.

For what purpose? Well, there’s the matter of the three thousand plus dollars that was raised for “security fencing, lighting and a camera.” It’s as easy as a few mouse clicks to claim a bunch of mean people on the internet forced you to abandon your plans and that pile of cash suddenly just fades into the shadows. There’s also the old Richard Viguirie direct mail tactic to consider– yes, all of those well-wishers are now components of a dollar-a-name list that can be readily sold to any political campaign with the money.

But let’s dig into this a little further. The brilliant civil war historian Dr. Brooks Simpson has suggested two possibilities for the locations of the flag. Both are within the Bermuda Hundred Campaign area and both properties abut interstate 95.

Site #1:

The back yard is easy to see from the highway, but the house itself is down a long, private driveway. The owners of this property are in the remodeling and contracting business, which makes sense from a logistical standpoint– they might be people who had some business dealings with Susan Hathway, for example. Of course, Susan Hathaway dropped everything and ran as far from the flaggers as is possible, so this might have put a crimp in that plan– if there ever was one. But to publicly associate with a widely reviled hate group –a toothless joke of a hate group, even– is commercial suicide. Couple that with no visible work being done at the site and this scores low for probability.

Site #2:

Again, the back yard is nestled right against the highway, with a thin line of trees acting as a barrier between the property and the road. The houses here are close to their streets, so it’s very easy to see if any work is going on. Once again, no work is happening. There aren’t any traces of any heavy equipment, no recent tree work nor poured cement. Probability is low here too.

Both locations are demographically multi-ethnic working class, and it seems the height of folly (and bad southrin‘ manners!) to personally insult every single neighbor on your block for the sake of an offensive sheet of nylon.

So we have to wonder if the flag is going up at all– or if it’s not going up as advertised. Time will tell where the real location is, and with it the thundering deluge of inquisitive reporters who want to know exactly what possesses people to want to be forever tarnished with the symbol of slavery.

The Hoosier Hose Down

In our previous post, we highlighted the Traditionalist “Terrorist” Youth Network (TYN) for producing signs that openly advocated lynching blacks, gays and Jews. These signs were used in public on Monday, August 26, with only four of them showing up outside the non-profit bookstore Boxcar Books.

Is there anyone else having Bill White flashbacks?

Boxcar Books was staging a peaceful event to send books to prisoners. Due to what TYN perceived as a “Marxist” tone to the event, they decided to protest Boxcar Books with visible threats of violence.

Here, Boxcar Books reports back from confronting TYN on Monday:

“Racist, Fascist, Anti-Gay Trad Youth Go Away!”

On Friday, August 23rd a representative from the Traditionalist Youth Network at IU–a university chapter of a national white supremacy organization, came to Boxcar Books and announced plans to protest Boxcar on Monday, August 26th because Boxcar is a “Marxist organization”. The group posted images on their Facebook of a black figure being lynched with the word “communism” scrawled across it. They tagged Boxcar Books in this picture and wrote “Just expect us” underneath. They know we are their enemy, and they decided to attack.

Community members were quick to respond to the threat of white supremacist organizing in Bloomington. Over the weekend folks spread word to friends, neighbors, and local businesses, rallying strong support against TYN’s racist, homophobic message.

Boxcar Books opened on Monday at 9am. Several dozen people spent the morning at Boxcar writing letters to prisoners, sharing food, and making signs reading “Bloomington is for queers” and “Immigrants welcome here”. Students visiting Boxcar to pick up textbooks on the first day of classes were alerted that racist organizing is happening at IU and a great number of people called, messaged, or came by Boxcar throughout the day to offer their support. Banners against fascism were dropped on campus and downtown.

Around 2pm, four xenophobic chauvinists arrived at Boxcar chanting, “racist, fascist, anti-gay, Trad Youth will not go away”. Three of the miscreants were recognized by counter-protesters as folks from the local area including Thomas “Bullshit” Buhls, KKK Klansman. They were joined by Matt Heimbach, co-founder of TYN. About 80 counter-protesters challenged the TYN’s racist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-semitic rhetoric. The group was surrounded on all sides, sprayed with a garden hose, duct tape lassoed, condom-bombed with water-filled condomns, and pelted with “the people’s apples” as they ran away after about a 30 minute barraging.

Monday’s counter-protest was a remarkable showing of individuals in solidarity against racism and white supremacy. Though Boxcar Books was targeted for today’s particular action, this was never a singular threat against Boxcar or MWPP but rather an assault on the safety of all.

While retreating, wet and defeated, TYN members announced that they would be back shouting, “expect us again!”

Matt Parrott doesn’t seem to be happy about our previous coverage of their making pro-lynching signs.

Steven Eugene Speers, AKA “Steven the Viking,” of Grand Forks, North Dakota, was arrested on a Texas warrant for possession of child pornography. As we see time and time again with white supremacists, Speers has a history of domestic violence and intimidation; he was arrested on multiple occasions on battery charges, lost custody of his child, and the child’s mother has a restraining order against him.

Francis John Gilroy Jr., 65, of West Palm Beach, Fla., who is known as “Copperhead” on the West Palm Beach-based neo-Nazi website Stormfront, was charged with unlawful possession of weapons by a felon […] Gilroy, who has also gone by the name ”Father Francis” on the radio show of Stormfront owner Don Black, was arrested in 1999 after failing to cooperate with police when they pulled him over. A search of his van turned up handguns, two assault rifles and 3000 rounds of ammunition in his van. Gilroy was arrested in the aftermath of last week’s scuffle when police found a pistol in his truck. Gilroy has been believed to have ties to militia groups in the 1990s, and had been seen at anti-immigration events recently, most notably the anti-immigration rally in Harrisburg, PA on Sept. 1, 2007 where neo-Nazis made up the majority of those participating in the event.

The most amusing thing about this whole saga is that once it was revealed that Steven Eugene Speers was a pedophile, every single nazi threw him under the bus, claiming that he was actually an ARA DOUBLE AGENT who was responsible for leaking the location of their little nazi shindig. We’re actually a little surprised that they haven’t yet claimed he was a secret shapeshifting Jew lizard alien from the Pleiades. But really, it’s no stretch to link white supremacists to every single possible facet of antisocial behavior and criminality– racist gangs like the Hammerskins and White Boy Society are widely known to fill their coffers by trafficking meth. We could go on forever listing every single neo-nazi felon, but thankfully, we don’t have to– that’s what sites like OPP’s Rogue’s Gallery and the SPLC’s Hatewatch are for. Considering that antifa are capable of shutting down entire white nationalist groups by simply reporting on them, that would be pretty terrifying to people trying to organize in secret.

Hate groups are never short of paranoia. They are constantly projecting their own violent tendencies in the form of self victimization.

The brilliant history blog Crossroads and author Brooks D Simpson have being doing an excellent job of reporting the day-to-day lunacy and latest in media whoredom of the “The Virginia Flaggers”.

Just in case you may not have heard of them, these Neo-Confederate dress up cosplay losers want to erect a big-ass pole and Confederate flag outside of Richmond VA. Having watched way too much Gone with the Wind as children, they want to return to the idyllic past where black people were property.

Onward we go to how much idiocy is being excreted from this situation; the flaggers now believe their big pole and made-in-China nylon rag is going to incite the big bad boogeymen of “the left” into vandalizing/harming/terrorizing them for their hoop skirt fantasies. As Brooks D Simpson reported on the rhetoric of these morons:

You know what worries me the most about the level of vicious hatred individual Leftist haters express on postings of these types of articles lately?

I worry that sooner or later some lone nut or two, possibly inspired by the anti-Confederate flag rhetoric of these people will – in the name of “tolerance” and “patriotism” of course – commit some heinous act of violence of the type that took place in Aurora, CO or recently in Boston, MA. 

Its all too easy for me to envision someone planting a pressure cooker or worse pulling an AK-47 on a Veteran’s Day Parade that features Confederate re-enactors. 

The Left has recently shown these last couple of years they can no longer reasonably control their crazies, assuming they are even trying.

The irony is that Matthew Heimbach (see photo above, the guy up front in the black jacket) is fairly recent to the Neo-Nazi scene but a well known white supremacist; from what you can see from the photo, he’s a member/supporter of the Virginia flaggers.

We just recently featured a story about Heimbach’s fellow “White Student Union” school club member John Stortstrom  who was involved in creating explosives as a contractor with the military.

In that story, we also mentioned the new parent group of the white student union: “The Traditionalist Youth Network,” a group born out of the old Youth For Western Civilization college club sponsored by Morton Blackwell’s Leadership Institute.

The Traditionalist Youth Network is a apparently being run by Heimbach and the Indiana white power gadfly Matt Parrott and is most likely backed by The American Freedom Party .

It looks like ugly just got uglier because now The Traditionalist Youth Network is now promoting the violence of lynching.

Claiming he was inspired by Matthew Heimbach (a frequent subject on our pages, as of late), Patrick has this to say about people who refer to his group as racist:

“You know, to say this is some closeted or curtained white supremacy, it’s pretty — and I’ll go ahead and turn their words around on them — it’s pretty ignorant and closed-minded,” he explained to WXIA. “It’s a pride organization, it’s a cultural organization, what we have is not hate for any other group… Whites are becoming a minority… We have a voice, we’re unique people, and we have every right to make that voice heard.”

So what have you been doing since 2011 on Stormfront, psharp94— or should I say, “Friend of Stormfront” sustaining member frozenpie77? How much money did you send to Don Black, anyway?

Dicey Maryland Republican Club Offers Free Guns to White Supremacist Members.

There is a lot of drama surrounding our new pal Matty Heimbach and his whites-only club. They are changing their name from White Student Union to “Traditionalist Youth Network” in partnership with Indiana’s white power gadfly Matt Parrott.  We suspect this is probably a connection to the white supremacist group American Third Position now calling themselves The American Freedom Party.

Another connection with this little group has popped up with a small political group called “The Rt. 40 Republican Club,” where former White Student Union member John Stortstrom is the Vice president .

Sortstrom, an explosives expert with the military has been making his name known lately with a brand spanking new rogue’s gallery entry on One People’s Project. “Explosives Expert” is a bit too generic– let’s hear it from Stortstrom’s own mouth what it is that he does:

He has also been the subject of a feature article on The Southern Poverty Law Center.

It also appears that Heimbach was a featured speaker for an event at this Rt. 40 Republican Club.

There are some very grave concerns about this group, aside from the fact that they’re white supremacists. One of their boneheads-in-charge is an explosives expert and they just held a raffle giving away free firearms to the other white supremacist members.

The really twisted element to this picture is that these covert white supremacist club meetings are being held in a building of the local sheriff’s department.

And that there is a possibility that the sheriff is also a member of this twisted Rt 40 Republican group.

The raffle event was held on June 13th, 2013, and there is no announcement about who won these guns or if they are being registered properly and are not being placed in the hands of felons or the mentally unstable– it is a private sale and Maryland’s new gun control laws (where they specifically ban the winning rifle by name)  don’t go into effect until October. If the sheriff is stupid enough to be a part of this mess, we are not sure he has the proper judgment to be the appropriate law enforcement officer to supervise an event such as this.

In the meantime, the group’s good buddy, and featured speaker (Heimbach) is calling out violent action against the immigrant community.

Is the Anti-Immigration Crowd Losing its Ground in the Conservative Movement?

The Leadership Institute is one of the leading training organizations to produce conservative values on all levels of policy and politics. In the past, they have not been especially friendly to the ideals of multiculturalism; they have been notorious for sponsoring a racist college organization called “Youth for Western Civilization”  and partnering with the anti-immigrant hate site VDare.com.

Youth for Western Civilization has since disbanded– its splintered remnants have congealed under the bloated tutelage of Matthew Heimbach into the “White Student Union”– and are now making flirty, doe-eyed glances at the nativist / fascist group American Third Position.  But where does that leave Leadership Institute?

In a desperate cry for attention, The Leadership Institute, Faith and Freedom Coalition (from Christian Coalition founder Ralph “babyface” Reed) and the Heritage Foundation flooded out a mass robo-call tonight informing anyone they have ever had contact with to PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE pay attention to them and attend their bright, shiny, new spectacle of embracing multiculturalism and the Hispanic community.

A Partnership with the “Heritage Foundation” ? THAT Heritage Foundation? The same Heritage Foundation that Leadership Institute pal Peter Brimelow promised “Grassroots ‘Sentiments of National Identity’ Will Defeat Immigration Reform?” (Brimelow seems to have a deep affection for the Heritage Foundation; he met his young wife Lydia when she was interning for them.)

Is this a sign that the pro-white/anti-immigrant faction of the conservative movement is losing?

It wasn’t too long ago that conservatives were having seminars on telling the GOP to ignore nonwhites altogether.
